Lorsque l'on possède un site, c'est dans l'espoir d'être lu et visité. Pour satisfaire son égo dans le cas d'un blog perso (:D) ou pour développer son business dans le cas d'une entreprise.
Réalisant des sites depuis déjà plusieurs années, j'ai eu l'occasion de tester trois services gratuits (en l'échange de l'affichage d'un petit lien souvent) de statistiques, il en existe de nombreux, mais je pense que ceux-ci sont les trois plus connus :
- Webstats : Le premier que j'ai utilisé, il a changé plusieurs fois de nom (netstatbasic, webstat4u, désormais webstats). Il a la particularité d'être l'un des rares (pour ne pas dire le seul) à afficher les stats en direct. Une fonctionnalité récente permet de voir d'où viennent les visiteurs sur googlemap grâce à l'API google. L'un des désavantages est que les statistiques sont libre d'accès, vos concurrents peuvent donc les connaîtres sans problème. Il offre aussi moins de possibilité que les deux autres suivants.
- Xiti : Sans doute le plus connu et le plus fiable, c'est la référence dans ce domaine, il existe une version gratuite et une version payante. La version gratuite offre déjà un nombre d'informations assez impressionant, un must.
- Google Analytics : Google offre de nombreux outils gratuits au webmasters, parmis celui-ci. Google propose l'équivalent de la version pro de Xiti, mais en gratuit ! A l'inverse de ses deux concurrents il n'est en plus pas nécessaire d'afficher un logo google sur son site. Jusqu'à présent le seul défaut de cet outil était une interface pas très "userfriendly", mais elle a changée cette semaine, et la nouvelle interface, tout en shéma en flash, est impeccable et clair, comparer des périodes avec les autres devient un jeu d'enfant.
Conclusion : Si jusqu'à présent je penchait plutôt vers Xiti, c'est désormais Google Analytics qui est mon préféré. Il est toutefois utile d'avoir deux sources différentes pour vérifier leur cohérence. Utiliser un service de ce genre est en tout cas impératif si l'on souhaite avoir des données fiables, les statistiques apportés par les hébergeurs sont en effet souvent très...exotiques !

Il existe egalement www.iminr.com qui est vraiment tres bien concu !
J'utilise Analytics et Xiti, mais ce dernier est nettement plus fiable !
Google analytics est le meilleur à mon avis. Il est très complet. Je vous le conseille.
